Unleashing the power of Jasmine ODB with Visual Objects 2.5
January 12th, 2001. Today was released for
the international community the product that will put will allow developers to
exploit to its full extent the "hidden" power of Jasmine's native
database engine, also known as JasmineODB. JasmineVOX™ is the result of
over a year of extensive research and development of advanced database solutions,
whose main purpose is to deal with huge amounts of data (One of the referred
scenarios works with more than five million objects, taking more than 5 GB of
hard disk storage).
The following table shows the difference between the original "out of
the box" class library and JasmineVOX™.

- Response times are measured from the moment when a
new window is called up to the moment when it completes all its pre-display
working. Part of the time is the needed instantiantion of VO-Jasmine
classes.
- Test run using a AMD-Athlon 700 Mhz with 192 Mb Ram,
8.3 Gb IDE hard disk as Jasmine server and a P133 Notebook with 48Mb
RAM as client.

Now with JasmineVOX™,
it is no longer necessary to use C++ in order to develop fast reliable
applications based on Jasmine ODB.
